Yesterday, June 30th, 2018, marked the end of an era as it was the last day that retail chain Best Buy officially sold music CDs. That business move was announced earlier this year and was hardly surprising as physical album sales continue to decline amid the explosive growth of streaming music. Despite the CD format being phased out at the store, music will remain available in Best Buy stores as the company has pledged to retail vinyl albums for the next few years.
