Drummer Cato Bekkevold has announced his departure from Enslaved. In the below new video statement released today, June 20th, he revealed the split was amicable and comes as a result of himself wanting to be there for his daughter. He also states that age has begun to take its toll on his body for the demanding style of music the band perform.
He will make his last live performance with the group this weekend at the ‘Hellfest Open Air‘ in Clisson, FRA on June 23rd. The band have already lined up his replacement and had previously played shows with him during the end of Bekkevold‘s wife’s pregnancy. Earlier today revealed this European/UK tour with High On Fire.
