Here’s The Top Ten Selling Metal/Hard Rock Albums Of 2018 So Far


Metal Insider have combed the 2018 sales charts to compile a list of the highest selling rock and metal albums of the year in the United States thus far. It should be little surprise that Metallica‘s “Hardwired…To Self Destruct” tops the list, with 136,000 sold thus far in 2018. The sales of the album were once again aided by a promotion, the latest bundling in copies of the album with tickets their summer tour.

The top 10 of the list runs as follows:

02. Bon Jovi – “This House Is Not For Sale” (131,000 sold)

03. Breaking Benjamin – “Ember” (117,500 sold)

04. Greta Van Fleet – “From The Fires” (98,000 sold)

05. A Perfect Circle – “Eat The Elephant” (94,000 sold)

06. Five Finger Death Punch – “A Decade Of Destruction” (87,300 sold)

07. Metallica – “Metallica” (87,000 sold)

08. Judas Priest – “Firepower” (84,000 sold)

09. Five Finger Death Punch – “And Justice For None” (82,500 sold)

10. Shinedown – “Attention Attention” (80,500 sold)

Ghost‘s latest release “Prequelle” landed at #11 thanks to a similar ticket promotion where the album was included with tickets for their North American touring. Impressively though, the sales data included only represents the first week of the album’s availability.
