Bullet For My Valentine Drummer Jason Bowld Says He Turned Down Playing In Ghost

Bullet For My Valentine‘s drummer Jason Bowld could have had a very different experience at success in heavy music had he made a different decision a few years back. Speaking with, he revealed that Ghost had approached him about joining the band as one of their ‘Nameless Ghouls‘ in 2016. Bowld instead joined Bullet For My Valentine officially in 2017 after touring with them in 2016. He makes his recording debut with the group on their approaching new album “Gravity“. Speaking of what could have been, Bowld commented:

“At the end of 2016, I got asked to join another band, which I didn’t want to do—a band called Ghost. It just didn’t feel right.”

He continued:

Bullet came along that same week. I started playing with the band in 2010 as a session drummer, filled in and didn’t think anything else after that. Then Matt called me at the end of 2015. A week turned into a month, a month turned into three months and here I am. It feels like a natural progression. Shit happens in bands all the time, and you just have to move on with it. I’m the new drummer and loving it, quite frankly.”

Gravity” will hit stores on June 29th.
