Heart’s Ann Wilson To Pay Tribute To Chris Cornell With Audioslave Cover

Heart‘s Ann Wilson has recorded a cover of Audioslave‘s “I Am The Highway” for her new covers/tribute album, “Immortal“. That set will be released on September 14th via BMG and finds her taking on tracks originally penned by various musicians who have passed in recent years that influenced her.

Other artists being covered include David Bowie (“I’m Afraid Of Americans“), Tom Petty (“Luna“), Amy Winehouse (“Back To Black“) and more. With her Audioslave cover Wilson is of course paying tribute to her late friend, Audioslave/Soundgarden, etc. frontman Chris Cornell, who took his own life last year.

Last month Wilson teamed up with Alice In ChainsJerry Cantrell for a cover of Soundgarden‘s “Black Hole Sun” at the ‘Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame‘ induction ceremony. Footage of that can be found here.
