Some years ago now Emmure frontman Frankie Palmeri became a lightning rod for controversy with his Cold Soul merch line, which featured imagery from the Columbine High School shooting and more. That, along with some of his other actions at the time, certainly gave Palmeri a reputation over the years—one that he apparently now feels has done him no favors.
Responding to a fan this week who asked for him to bring back the Cold Soul brand, Palmeri responded:
The amount of negativity / back lash towards my (admittedly) insensitive and crude design choices has done nothing to improve my life or career. It's not happening. Thanks. https://t.co/PKSMCgRaMk

When another fan posited that any publicity is good publicity, Palmeri responded:
Wrong. Fact is this. The rock/metal/hardcore music world already don't really fuck with me. All that negative shit (when I was 24) only gave more reasons for people to find a excuse to dislike/dismiss anything positive I might have achieved. Also the edge lord vibe is played out. https://t.co/6GW6RGj9oa
