Metallica have managed to skyrocket back to #2 on the Billboard 200 with their latest album, “Hardwired…To Self-Destruct“. That album originally opened at #1 on the Billboard 200 with 291,000 equivalent albums sold back in November of 2016. A ticket promotion saw copies of the album included with tickets purchased for their 2017 North American tour, which later drove the album back up into the top #5 some months later and helped the album attain platinum status (1 million units) in the United States.
Thanks to a similar promotion for their fall North American tour, the album has once again shot back up the charts to #2 from its previous spot at #42. Billboard report that the album moved 65,000 units this past week, 63,000 of which were traditional album sales, thanks to the latest ticket pack-in.
