Before his May 2017 passing, late Soundgarden/Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell was among the handful of musicians who signed on for the upcoming collection, “Johnny Cash: Forever Words“. Said collection was orchestrated by Johnny Cash‘s son, John Carter Cash, and finds various artists setting a number of poems and such written by Johnny Cash to music.
Titled “You Never Knew My Mind“, Cornell‘s previously unreleased interpretation is said to combine two works (“You Never Knew My Mind” & “I Never Knew Your Mind“) originally penned by Johnny. You can stream it now below while “Johnny Cash” Forever Words” will be released on April 06th.
“You Never Knew My Mind,” one of @chriscornell’s last solo recordings, is on ‘Johnny Cash: Forever Words,’ the new album featuring songs created from Cash’s unknown poetry, lyrics and letters.
