Killswitch Engage, etc. vocalist Jesse Leach lent his voice to a reggae themed cover of Minor Threat‘s “Salad Days” for the companion album to the ‘xXx Fanzine (1983-1988) Hardcore & Punk in the Eighties‘ set, which will be released November 10th through Bridge Nine.
That set compiles the ‘xXx Fanzine‘ run in the 1980s by longtime metal/hardcore A&R Mike Gitter. Leach is only one of many artists to have been involved with the companion album. Other participants include Strife, letlive., Tombs, Shai Hulud and more. You can see a complete track listing here. Leach said of his cover:
“I did a mellow punky reggae cover of Minor Threats “Salad Days” for this comp for my dude Mike Gitter. it was recorded a few years ago in my lo-fi home studio (hence the noisy recording) and I think it came out pretty rad!”
