The Foo Fighters continue to experience a resurgence in sales and interest following the recent #1 debut of their latest album, “Concrete And Gold. This past August saw the band rack up a bunch of new platinum awards for sales in the U.S. of past albums and singles as the promotional cycle ramped up.

Now another round of RIAA certifications has now hit, here’s the latest they’ve been awarded with:

  • Their 2011 album “Wasting Light” has been certified platinum. It previously hit gold on May 18th, 2011.
  • Their 2007 single “The Pretender” went 2x platinum, having previously been certified gold on February 13th, 2008.
  • Their 2003 single “Learn To Fly” went platinum, last having hit gold on June 12th, 2006.
  • Their 2003 single “Times Like These” off 2002’s “One By One” has gone platinum. It previously went gold on March 31st, 2006.
  • Their 2007 album “Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace” was certified platinum, last having been awarded gold status on December 13th, 2007.
  • Their hit single “Everlong” from 1997’s “The Colour And The Shape” has gone 2x platinum. It was last certified gold on March 31st, 2006.
  • Best Of You“, the lead single from 2005’s “In Your Honor” has hit 2x platinum. It was last certified platinum on April 24th, 2008.

Each of the new awards were certified on October 06th, 2017 by the RIAA for ‘sales’ in the United States. A platinum album in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. The sales certifications factor in digital streams into their awards with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
