Originally the debut album from System Of A Down drummer John Dolmayan‘s These Grey Men covers project, which pairs him with his friend James Hazley and more, was planned to arrive in early 2015. Fast-forward to now and the wheels are still spinning on the project.
A recent update shared by Dolmayan finds the band in the studio laying down vocals (is that Franky Perez?) for the project. Even more notable though is a comment from Dolmayan‘s System Of A Down bandmate Serj Tankian on the post, which states: “When do I get to sing on some female vocal jam you’ve got lined up for me.” Dolmayan publicly replied that the pairing should be happening soon.
$55,215 was successfully crowdfunded for the project back in 2014. Their debut effort is expected to feature covers of Radiohead, Outkast and David Bowie, among others.
