10 Linkin Park Albums Return To The Billboard Top 200, Two Hit The Top 10


Linkin Park‘s recorded material experienced a dramatic sales spike in the wake of the tragic death of the band’s vocalist Chester Bennington late last month. Initial data that ended tracking on the day Bennington took his own life (July 20th) saw a large boost in sales. This latest sales data was collected during the first tracking week following his passing.

The group’s latest album “One More Light” experienced the biggest benefit, surging to #4 on the Billboard 200 with 55,000 units moved—representing a 122% increase. Meanwhile, the group’s 10x platinum selling debut album “Hybrid Theory” hit #8 on the same chart. It moved 41,000 units, which was a 177% increase.

Other Linkin Park related activity on the Billboard 200 included “Meteora” hitting #11 after re-entering the chart last week at #42. “Minutes To Midnight” landed at #27 after re-entering at #115 last week. “Living Things” returned to the chart, landing  at #80. Meanwhile, the group’s “Collision Course” pairing with Jay-Z re-entered at #116, “A Thousand Suns” re-entered at #117 and “The Hunting Party” re-entered at #184.
