SOiL To Release Greatest Hits Set “Scream: The Essentials” In September

SOiL are planning a greatest hits release titled “Scream: The Essentials” for a September 15th through Pavement Entertainment/AFM Records. In addition to a number of tracks from the bands back catalog, the effort will also feature some new material and alternate takes.

Among the new offerings is the group’s cover of “Gimmie Some Lovin’” by The Spencer Davis Group. Lindy Gabriel (Gabriel And The Apocalypse) and Cristina Feliciano (Oblivious Signal) lend guest vocals to that track, with Jake LaCore (Gabriel And The Apocalypse) on keys.

Other rarities featured include a cover of Soundgarden‘s “Rusty Cage” that was originally released in 2007; an alternate version of “Give It Up” featuring a guest turn from late Static-X frontman/guitarist Wayne Static and an acoustic version of “Can You Heal Me“. The latter was recorded at Dimebag Darrell‘s home studio in 2004 with Sterling Winfield and Vinnie Paul handling the production.
