Gojira Are “Still Working” On Long-Lost Sea Shepherd EP

Back in 2010 Gojira were working on a planned benefit EP for Sea Shepherd that unfortunately was derailed by a hard drive failure. Roughly seven years later, the band are apparently still working on it, according to drummer Mario Duplantier. He recently told Mulatschag of it:

“We just wanted to put a spotlight on them, so Joe had this idea of doing an EP and selling the EP and all the money goes to them, to help them. Finally, we started working in the EP, but the hard drive crashed. We couldn’t [finish] the project, but we’re still working on it. The goal was to talk about them. They work, they fight for something very important, we feel. We respect them so much, so that was a goal.”

The effort was originally set to feature five songs and some high profile guests, among them Devin Townsend, Max Cavalera of Soulfly, etc. fame and Meshuggah‘s Fredrik Thordendal. One track from it titled “Of Blood And Salt” featuring Townsend and Thordendal did get released however, you can hear it below:
