Thousand Below Debut “Sinking Me” Music Video

Thousand Below have released a new video for their song “Sinking Me” that was directed by Michael Colasardo. It’s the second single to emerge from their forthcoming new album for Rise Records. Frontman James Deberg commented:

“We’re so incredibly excited to be releasing our music video for ‘Sinking Me‘ as the second single off our album. ‘Sinking Me‘ is the opening track of our record and we wanted to set the emotional tone for the album right out the gate with a high energy song that that lived on the ‘heavier’ spectrum of the record, but also carried heavy lyrical content.”

“The song is the introduction to the emotional descent that the album is about. Part of the lyrics in the first verse say, ‘Coming to terms with the reality of a broken spine / Cost of the weight of the world / Unsure If I can hold it all up and buy some time.’ It’s the first immediate awareness of myself ‘going-under’ metaphorically as a result of the emotional stress that came from the losses I experienced in my life two years before the album was created. The clean vocals are much more aggressive on this song than others on the record. I wanted to paint the immediate pain and frustration of the loss I experienced pulling me under right out the gate, while also giving listeners something high energy and catchy to yell along with.

We feel ‘Tradition‘ and ‘Sinking Me‘ are great introductory songs for our band to come out the gate with and we’re so excited to get the rest of the record released before the end of the year.”
