With drummer Dave Lombardo set to be overseas with Suicidal Tendencies during Fantômas‘ upcoming first U.S. live show since 2008, the supergroup have again enlisted the services of Melvins drummer Dale Crover—though this time in a primary role. That date will find the band take the stage with Tool, Primus, Clutch, Melvins and The Crystal Method at the Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino, CA on June 24th. Crover told Rollingstone.com of that:
“I mean, it’s somewhat difficult stuff, no more difficult than I’m used to. And that record that we’re doing in particular is their more or less straightforward record. … I’m pretty sure we’re doing [2001’s] ‘Director’s Cut‘. I hope so! Otherwise I might have to learn a bunch of songs I don’t know.
- Advertisement -I’ll just have to listen to the record a couple times and it should come back to me no problem – look back and see if I have any special notes from Mr. Patton on when to play the maracas and all that stuff.
That stuff’s really fun to play too – I like that record…”
Crover himself is readying a new solo album titled “The Fickle Finger Of Fate” for an August 04th release on Joyful Noise. He discusses the effort further in the article linked above.
