Ice Nine Kills Release New ‘The Shining’ Inspired Song “Enjoy Your Slay”

Ice Nine Kills have released a new song titled “Enjoy Your Slay“, which was inspired by Stephen King‘s “The Shining. The band released the track as a result of a fan-voted poll. The book itself also turns 40 this year. Ice Nine Kills vocalist Spencer Charnas commented:

“It was a close race, but Stephen King‘s classic tale of the Overlook Hotel’s winter caretaker and his descent into madness emerged as the victor. Being huge fans of not only the novel, but also of Stanley Kubrick‘s brilliant film adaptation, we knew in order for the song to work we would need to capture the unnerving isolation and traumatizing scenes of horror that occurred on those 447 pages and 144 minutes of film.”

Upping the ante a bit, the band landed a cameo on the track from Sam Kubrick, the grandson of acclaimed director Stanley Kubrick who helmed the film adaptation of ‘The Shining‘. Sam has a metal band of his own, Shields. A digital single for the track is also now available as well.
