Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington Agrees With Corey Taylor On Fan Rants: “Sometimes I Take Things Too Personally”

Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington‘s aggressive responses towards those who feel the band have ‘sold out’ with their latest album, “One More Light“, looked to have come to an end yesterday, as Bennington stated he had a new outlook.

Prior to that however, Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor shared his thoughts on this heated reply Bennington gave in an interview regarding fans who only wanted Linkin Park‘s to sound like their debut album, “Hybrid Theory“. Among the things said, Bennington urged those fans to “move the fuck on.”

In the below interview, Taylor was asked about how he felt about Bennington‘s response, offering:

“I understand where he’s at. God, I would’ve never say it the way he did, but you get frustrated and you want people to embrace the evolution. But At the same time, you should probably be very, very fortunate that people this far along the line still love that music you made. That album that you made, you know?

“For what it’s worth, it’s a great fusion rock album. It’s got pop elements to it, the songs are great, so if you’re going to have a problem, it’s a good problem to have… So I understand his frustration…”

“Be fortunate for what you have, be fortunate for that fact that people are still coming to see you to hear the music. Give it a little time, you have to give it a little time. In retrospect, maybe two or three years from now you put out an album and it makes them appreciate this one more. You have to pick your spots, dude, and this is coming from the guy who’s notorious for running his mouth.”

Bennington has since read Taylor‘s comments and offered the following reply via Twitter earlier today (May 24th):
