Original Story:

Frontman Ivan Moody has announced his plans to leave Five Finger Death Punch at the end of the year following the band’s touring commitments. He made the reveal in a since pulled radio interview with KPBI that was posted last night . He said of the matter:

“To be completely honest with you, Death Punch and I have kind of come to a crossroads. We’re very proud of what we’ve done – years and years and years of work…”

It’s time for us to take our way and go do something else, so after this year… my new band, Villain… I’m so excited.”

Moody was sent home early from tour late last year following a string of erratic performances. He was rumored at the time to be entering a facility to help aid his issues with substance abuse. The band continued to tour with All That Remains frontman Phil Labonte taking his place, among others.

Moody‘s substance issues were also part of one of the lawsuits they are currently involved in with their label Prospect Park alleging they had ignored his problems to keep the band going, an allegation the band denied. Most recently filed a $1,000,000 lawsuit against the label.
