According to AJC.com, a 20-year-old man by the name of Joshua Dugas is suing the city of Atlanta, concert promoter Live Nation and anti-tobacco non-profit Truth for injuries he suffered as the result of an assault at the July 29th, 2015 stop of the ‘Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival‘. That date took place at Aaron’s Amphitheater at Lakewood in Atlanta, GA.

Dugas alleges that while taking in HELLYEAH‘s set he was hit in the back of the head  by an unknown assailant who was wielding a promotional skateboard given out by Truth at the event. The blow saw him lose consciousness and wind up being transported to the hospital via ambulance after assessment by the on-site medical team. The Alabama native claims that he has suffered continuing and permanent injuries as a result of the attack, including physical emotional and economic injuries, with the suit citing over $40,000 in medical bills.

Dugas‘ legal team alleges that Live Nation and the city of Atlanta failed to provided adequate security and that Truth should have been responsible for keeping the skateboards from harming other concertgoers. For more on that, head to AJC.com. The 2015 run of the ‘Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival‘ has thus far proven to be the last for the once annual summer tour as poor turnouts and higher costs saw the yearly festival come to an end.
