Darkest Hour’s Mike Schleibaum Featured In New Mini-Doc, Talks Signing With Southern Lord

Darkest Hour guitarist Mike Schleibaum is the subject of a new mini-documentary from Fret12 on his musical upbringing, the band’s impending new album “Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora” and more. In it he also speaks about honoring the fans trust when delivering a crowdfunded album (they crowdfunded $72,584 for this latest release.) During the conversation he addressed the band singing with Southern Lord Records for tomorrow’s (March 10th) release of the effort:

“[Southern Lord Records founder] Greg [Anderson] was always a big supporter but I think what happened was he started to go a certain direction with his label and we started to go a certain direction with the band where we were driven to be this ‘Ozzfest‘-style band’. Greg is into quality and he’s into amazing albums, but he also knows what’s realistic, and that’s why we like him a lot. So there was a parting of paths for awhile because we were both seeking something different. But I think the interesting thing is our paths have now kind of intertwined again…”
