Wintersun Crowdfund Over $171,559 For Their Own Studio In 24 Hours

Wintersun‘s crowdfunding campaign for their own studio has been a giant success with the group raising €162,570 in just over 24 hours for it on Indiegogo via 3247 backers. At the current conversion rate, that amounts to $171,559 USD. Vocalist/guitarist, etc. Jari Mäenpää has shared the below video regarding the band exceeding their €150,000 goal. Their ultimate plan is to build a €750,000 ($791,473 USD) studio and record “Time II“—the follow-up to their 2012 release, “Time I“. As the band put it:

“Reaching the final goal will enable us to build the Wintersun Headquarters immediately and deliver TIME II the fastest way with the best production and start recording our future Wintersun albums with our true vision for you guys!!!

Additionally, having our own Wintersun Headquarters studio & rehearsal place will help us to work more efficiently on other things like music videos, rehearsal videos, studio videos and video updates for you. Having our own place will also help us to improve our live production for bigger and better live shows, perhaps with a real orchestra someday and doing a live video recording of it which has also been a long time dream of ours! So let’s make all these things happen guys! You have the power to help us!

Those who contribute to the campaign are also given various special releases, including special editions of the band’s forthcoming new album “The Forest Seasons“, out July on Nuclear Blast. This campaign is also the first of three planned campaigns to help fund the studio.
