As a proud libertarian, All That Remains vocalist Phil Labonte has often voiced his views loudly, almost inviting controversy when it comes to his views on guns and such. However, there are times when his more extreme personal leanings have gotten him in some hot water.
You may recall back in 2011 he stirred up controversy when he called Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack a homophobic slur. In the years since, Labonte has explained why he feels that the word shouldn’t be seen as offensive.
It’s a thought process he still subscribes to in 2017 it seems. Labonte recently went on to share his thoughts regarding those of of left leaning political views calling for violence in the wake of the inauguration of Trump administration.
I'm flabbergasted by the left calling for violence. Why do you want that? You've no idea what you're asking for. We train! We practice! Wtf?

It would be awful. And by awful I mean the body count. We would win. And we would mourn the loss of life. https://t.co/Gxx7lb4ZqH

This led to some trolling by Toilet Ov Hell‘s Editor, Joe Thrashnkill, causing Labonte to once again pull out the homophobic slur on social media:
@JoeThrashnkill Well, you are a faggot. I mean, that's again a true statement.

When called out by a Twitter user in the comments on using the slur, Labonte, once again using the argument he’s stated in the past, replied:
@megans_law @JoeThrashnkill Faggot is an insult. Gay ppl are not faggots.
