Documentary On Eagles Of Death Metal’s Tragic Le Bataclan Show In The Works

A documentary on Eagles Of Death Metal‘s tragic November 13th, 2015 concert at Le Bataclan in Paris, France is in the works for a February premiere on HBO. During their set that night, armed terrorists stormed the venue and killed nearly 90 fans in attendance before being brought down by police themselves. It was a part of a series of terrorist attacks that took place on the city that night.

The documentary will be titled ‘Eagles Of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends)‘ and is being put together by actor/director Colin Hanks, who himself is a friend of Eagles Of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes and drummer Josh Homme (who also plays in Queens Of The Stone Age). Though Homme wasn’t present during the night of the shooting, he and his relationship with Hughes will feature heavy in the picture. Deadline report that the documentary has been financed by Live Nation‘s Live Nation Productions and will essentially feature three parts:

“The first introduces the group to the many viewers who won’t know their music, or might be misled by their arch, self-deprecating name. The second is about November 13, 2015, with footage of the band, and some sound from that night, but without images of the many horrible deaths. The third joins the band for its European return tour.”

A limited theatrical run is also planned with more details to come.
