Back in November of 2015 the Deftones were due to perform a three-day stint at the Le Bataclan event in Paris, France that was to begin on November 14th. The night prior, November 13th, 2015, armed gunmen stormed the venue during the Eagles Of Death Metal‘s set and killed 89 of those in attendance as part of a series of terrorist attacks on the city.
Members of the band and their crew had been at the venue earlier that night to take in part of the show, but left prior to the arrival of the armed terrorists. In the wake of the events, the clearly shaken band headed back home, postponing their European touring plans. As part of their upcoming European/UK tour, they have now announced that they are ready to return to the city and will play the Olympia on May 02nd.
