Megadeth's Dave Mustaine

Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine Is A 40 Below Summer Fan? (Updated)

Update – October 20th 09:09am:

40 Below Summer frontman Max Illidge has commented on how Mustaine came to know of the band:

“Our bass player hung out with him. They hit it off, he played him our new shit, and he digs it.”

Original Story:

Here’s an odd one, Megadeth frontman/guitarist Dave Mustaine tweeted out 40 Below Summer‘s video for their track “Snake Charmer” earlier today (October 19th,) encouraging fans to check it out. If  your memory is a little hazy, 40 Below Summer were among the various acts in the late 90’s/early 2000’s nü-metal movement before breaking up in 2005. They eventually returned permanently in 2011 and released their latest album “Transmission Infrared” through iTunes last October.

As to why Mustaine has picked up on the band just now, there could be any number of reasons. Perhaps his son Justis is managing them or maybe they are being considered for an upcoming tour. Of course it could also just be that Mustaine is a fan.
