Here’s Slipknot’s Gold Record For “.5: The Gray Chapter”

Slipknot‘s latest album “.5: The Gray Chapter” was recently certified gold by the RIAA, signifying 500,000 copies sold in the United States of America. The band have now received their plaques for the sales milestone and you can see drummer Jay Weinberg holding his in the below shot. Released on October 17th, 2014, the album was officially certified gold on August 31st, 2016. The lead single from it, “The Devil In I” was certified gold as well just under a month later on September 23rd, 2016.

Both certifications benefited from the RIAA‘s decision to begin factoring in streams, (1,500 plays on various accredited streaming music services equates to one album sold,) into the awards.
