Ex-As I Lay Dying Singer Tim Lambesis Files Suit Against Prison Medical Staff For Gynecomastia Diagnosis

Ex-As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis has filed suit against a California medical team, naming Vista Detention Facility nurse Mary Abiaro and others for not prescribing him Anastrozole, despite allegedly being in possession of a doctor’s prescription of the drug. The drug was intended to help combat his withdrawal from anabolic steroid use prior to his 2014 incarceration.

Lambesis claims that negligent behavior and a failure to log his request for the drug led to him suffer from gynecomastia—an enlargement of his breasts due to a hormonal imbalance. He was said to originally be seeking $35,500,000 in general and punitive damages. Loudwire got wind of the suit and have delved further into some court documents for the case, which can be found here and here.

Lambesis appears to have first filed suit back in September 08th, 2015 with an order issued in April of this year in part allowing the defendant Mary Abiaro to dismiss the punitive damages claim; however the medical negligence claim will proceed at an unspecified date.

Lambesis has been imprisoned since 2014 after having pled guilty to a charge of solicitation of another to commit murder. Lambesis had tried to arrange a hitman to murder his then wife, Meggan Lambesis. He is currently serving a six-year prison sentence on the charge in Norco, California.
