Davey Suicide has posted the following video segment outlining his side of a lawsuit he’s involved in against Standby Records. It’s an ugly tale in which Suicide showcases numerous pieces of evidence against the label and their CEO/owner, Neil Sheehan. Among the charges leveled against the label and Sheehan as part of the suit are, $58,000+ in material breaches, accounting, conversion, replevin, unjust enrichment, tortious interference of business relations, fraud and more.
With the trial set to go before jury on February 08th, 2017, Suicide released the following video which alleges Sheehan had been cooking the books for magazine ads, sold off Davey Suicide‘s merch rights on a side deal and never compensated Davey Suicide for delivering any of their albums, among various other complaints.
In light of the ongoing legal battle, a Gofundme has been launched for Davey Suicide‘s legal expenses.
For what it’s worth Theprp.com‘s own dealings with Standby Records for an ad campaign they ran for their artists on this site back in 2012 was never paid, despite repeated reminders—which is why you don’t see coverage of artists on their roster here.—the debt was paid in full shortly after this story ran.
