Though it’s a tale Corey Taylor of Slipknot/Stone Sour fame has told a few times over the years, it’s one you may not be familiar with. Speaking recently with Metal Hammer, Taylor once again spoke of the recording sessions for the title track to the band’s 2001 release, “Iowa“. During those particular recording sessions, he stripped down naked and proceeded to cut himself. Previous versions of the story also mentioned vomiting during the sessions. Speaking to the aforementioned site, he said:
“The biggest memory for me was recording ‘Iowa‘ naked, cutting myself up with a broken candle. That was probably the one memory that comes out. It was the one time that producer Ross Robinson didn’t come in the vocal booth with me. He probably wouldn’t have had a good time in there with me naked!”
