Guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens Of The Stone Age, etc. fame sat down with Matt Pinfield for a chat on 2 Hours With Matt Pinfield and among discussing his new supergroup Gone Is Gone, touring with Iggy Pop, playing & recording with A Perfect Circle and more, he spoke of where Queens Of The Stone Age are at with their new album:

“We’ve already started talking about what we’re gonna do next for the next Queens record. There’s tons of ideas that are bouncing around. I mean we’re going to do something before the end of the year I’m sure, as far as recording. Because i think we’re excited to get back together to follow-up “…Like Clockwork“, which was a really, really big record for us, personally. It was a big record for us cause it was the hardest record to make. And we’re trying to not do that again. We just want to keep things simpler and try that I guess.”

Leeuwen also mentioned that the string of cancelled shows from Gone Is Gone that were originally to take place this week didn’t happen as a result of scheduling conflicts within the band, given each members various commitments. Gone Is Gone‘s self titled debut arrived in stores earlier this month.
