Dez Fafara Says There’s “Some Deep-Seeded Shit” To Be Worked Out In Coal Chamber

Though said issues may have been cleared up in the time since the interview was conducted, DevilDriver frontman Dez Fafara hinted at some tension in the Coal Chamber camp in an interview found in the latest issue of Revolver. When asked where he was at with Coal Chamber, himself having just begun a new album cycle for DevilDriver, he offered:

“I had a lot of fun doing that record and playing shows with them again. But there were some circumstances that were not ideal and that’s why that thing is not continuing as of right now. If something comes up and I have time and want to make a record and the members have their shit together, I’ll do it. But as of now, there’s some deep-seeded shit that certain dudes in the band still need to work out.

And if they work it out and want to tour or make another record, they can come back and give me a call. But right now, everyone in DevilDriver [referencing past tensions with ex-members of DevilDriver] is stoked. No one’s fighting. And I feel lucky to be where I am.”

The comments follow similar ones from Fafara, who did later confirm that he remains a member of both bands and implied he is understandably just placing his focus on DevilDriver‘s cycle for their latest release, “Trust No One“.
