Insomnium‘s new full-length has been titled “Winter’s Gate” and will a concept album consisting of a single 40-minute song. The group are currently mixing the album with Dan Swanö (Dew-Scented, Malevolent Creation at Unisound AB in Sweden for a September 23rd release on Century Media. The album takes its inspiration and title from a short story written by vocalist/bassist Niilo Sevänen.
According to a press release, the tale is: “about a group of Vikings who set out to find a fabled island west of Ireland, despite the treacherous winter drawing near.” The short story will also be featured as a book with illustrations from Teemu Tähkänen that is due to be released with the album.
