Having apparently injured his shoulder last night, (hed)p.e. drummer Jeremiah “Trauma” Stratton has thus far been drawing mixed reactions for turning to the band’s Facebook to ask for “pain medicine”. His original post can be read below:
“Peeps!!! It’s Trauma. We have a problem….
Like a jackass, last night getting ready to cross the street I tripped over a sprinkler head or something and fell SUPER hard directly on my shoulder on the street. I’m in so much pain right now in my shoulder and tour hasn’t even started yet.I need pain medicine, straight up. In St. Louis tonight at Pop’s, St Louis peeps PLEASE hook me up with some powerful pain meds. Contact me thru PM on my personal page if you can help me out (Jeremiah Stratton) it is very much appreciated. I dunno how much they go for out here so please message me. Thanks
– Major Trauma (in the shoulder….)”
He later clarified his situation after being called out on the post:
“First off, I hate fucking pills and DO NOT TAKE THEM EVER. Obviously, extreme situations take extreme measures so quit judging me bitch you clearly don’t know me. My shoulder is killing me, I got a seven week tour, and need some fucking relief to perform. Do i really need to go on and on about how my medical insurance expired last month and am in transition right now which is why I can’t just walk in to a doctor today also because some idiots wanna judge me?
Whatever, yes PLEASE someone help me out, I got cash, bought Aleeve last night and it’s just not enough. Trauma (Jeremiah Stratton) and y’all who know me know Damn well I’m not a fucking pill addict. I don’t even like taking aspirin but I’m seriously desperate and in a lot of pain. It would be great to get some help, if not whatever I’ll tough it out. But don’t be talking shit dude for real”
If anything the plea does point out the continued perils of having proper healthcare while being a touring musician. The injury occurred just as (hed)p.e. have begun a U.S. tour with The Veer Union, dates for which can be found below. The band will also release their new album “Forever!” on July 22nd.
