Stone Temple Pilots Shoot Down Rumors Of Creed’s Scott Stapp Being Their New Singer

Creed frontman Scott Stapp, best known more recently for his struggles with mental health and substance abuse than his musical pursuits, implied that he could be Stone Temple Pilots‘ new singer on Rock 100.5’s ‘Bailey And Southside‘. In an interview which you can hear below, he spoke of some new projects he has in the works, revealing one was its “own band with its own band name.” When asked directly if he had joined the aforementioned outfit, he replied:

“I can’t say, man, I can’t say. I can’t confirm or deny. [But] I will tell you this: there is a six-degree-separation connection between this new project and the band you mentioned.”
