The Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman talked with Daniel P Carter on the BBC Radio 1‘s ‘Rock Show With Daniel P Carter‘ this past weekend. While discussing their return to ‘Reading‘ (and ‘Leeds‘,) the conversation, also steered to where the band are at with their new album:
“We got all the drums done—we did that in Long Island, NY. And then we came back to my studio—my guitar player, our other guitar play Kevin [Antreassian] and me have this Party Smasher Studio setup in Jersey so we’re tracking the rest here. We’ve been doing it like late in the middle of night and stuff, like all secretive and stuff, it’s crazy.”

He continued:
“This one’s definitely… I mean it’s Dillinger, there’s always like a potpourri of textures that go on. It’s all over the spectrum. I haven’t even heard what Greg‘s doing on it yet. He’s out in California just working on it on his own. But musically it’s been written over a span of like two years. And I’d say there’s some wierder moments on it.
I feel like it’s a little bit more in the realm of the “Irony Is A Dead Scene” EP or maybe “Ire Works“. I think we’re probably going to release it in a more interesting way than we have in the past, we’re not sure, probably try to do it not too traditionally.”
