Stone Temple Pilots & Velvet Revolver Music Sales Skyrocket Following Scott Weiland’s Death

As is often the case when a musician passes, the recent death of Scott Weiland has seen the sales and streaming of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver music skyrocket. Billboard.com report that streaming of Stone Temple Pilots‘ “Plush” had a 313% increase to 1.3 million U.S. streams in the week following his death. Furthermore. numerous tracks from both bands re-entered the chart, some with up to 2,512% increases in sales. The band’s 2003 greatest hits collection “Thank You” also saw a spike and has re-entered the Billboard 200 at #47 with the equivalent of 17,000 album units.
