Chino Moreno Reveals Deftones’ Most Profitable Song, Confirms He’s A Justin Bieber Fan

Deftones, Team Sleep, etc. frontman Chino Moreno took part in Kerrang!‘s ‘The Songs That Saved My Life’ feature, revealing various songs that have meant a lot to him over the years. When asked which track¬†has made him the most cash, he confirmed it was “Change (In The House Of Flies)” off of 2000’s “White Pony“. He responded:

“This is obviously a very hard question to answer because we’ve never really had a ‘hit’ song. If you look at Spotify, which tells you our most listened to songs, there’s no doubt about the fact that this is the most popular [‘Change‘ has 12.4 million streams, “My Own Summer (Shove It)” follows with 10.5 million.] I think it’s been on some movie soundtracks as well. I’d therefore say that it’s our most commercially successful song to date, and thus the one that’s made the most cash. Which is pretty cool.”

When asked what song you wouldn’t expect to find on his iPod, he revealed that he’s a ‘Belieber’, with the song being “What Do You Mean?” by Justin Bieber:

“I actually downloaded this song just yesterday. I had to; it’s completely unavoidable! It comes on in the car every time I get in it. And you know what? I like it! I really do! I don’t know how surprised people will be about that. I think people who know me know that I listen to a lot of corny shit! I’ve got no problem with it, so I’ll just keep on enjoying this one.”

Moreno further went on to cite Sepultura‘s “Biotech Is Godzilla” as being a song that gets him fired up and explained how there’s no actual lyrics during the breakdown part (‘Squeal like a pig…’) of “7 Words“. You can find the whole feature, which also includes the hardest Deftones song for him to play, in the latest issue of Kerrang!.
