Billboard have more word on Sony Music Entertainment‘s recent acquisition of influential metal label, Century Media. According to their report, the label generates about $12 million in revenue, including $5 million from their U.S. sales. Sony is thought to have paid between $17-$20 million for the label. While distribution will continue with RED in the U.S., Sony themselves will take over for international territories.
Though official terms were not shared, Billboard report that the deal apparently did not include the company’s music publishing assets. Century Media founder Robert Kampf will stay on as CEO of the Century family of labels and was quoted saying that the move would usher Century Media into “its strongest chapter yet.”
