Deftones frontman/guitarist Chino Moreno told WSOU earlier this month that a November release date is now being finalized for the bands eighth studio album. Though it remains tentative for now, a potential November 20th release date is currently being eyed. Moreno said of that:
“I think October or November now, probably November, as of today we are rushing to get our thank you’s our credits and all that stuff turned in. Once the music turned in which should be hopefully in the next couple of weeks there is still some mixing and mastering to be done. But the recordings all done the songs are all there, they are awesome we’re excited about it. We’re just dealing with the stuff now, putting all the artwork and everything together. And then a few months for them—the powers that be—to prepare it to be released.”

He later added:
“You know what they told me, I think it’s the [November] 20th. Don’t quote me on that though.”
Chino also offered up bassist Segio Vega‘s usage of a six string bass on the album as opening the door to some new sounds. He also expects the band to play some limited shows around the years end but that they will mostly ‘”lay low” until next year to fully start the album cycle.
