A friend of the late Alice In Chains frontman Layne Staley identified as Morgen Gallagher recently stated that Staley had been up for a spot in the supergroup Audioslave prior to his passing. That band featured various members of Rage Against The Machine with Soundgarden‘s Chris Cornell eventually landing the vocal spot. A fan has asked Tom Morello of the group (also of Rage Against The Machine) if the rumors were true via Twitter (see below) and got a definitive one word answer: “no.”
