Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello continues to tease his forthcoming new album, telling Radio.com:
“I’m deep in it, I’m making a huge guitar record and it couldn’t be more exciting. It’s heavy and funky and devastating. What I’m trying to do is make a tentpole record that stands beside my best. I’m trying to make the guitar record.”
When suggested that it will have an electronic edge, as per past comments from collaborators, he replied:
“He may have jumped the gun a little bit [laughs]. That was an unsanctioned interview!”
He further explained:
“I’m gonna hold off on dissecting what the new album is until it’s better formed, but the overall idea behind it is to make a record that’s the ‘Hendrix of now.’ I’m playing guitar in ways that I haven’t before, that are beyond what I’ve done before, and playing on some unsafe musical terrain where I haven’t been before.”
