Glenn Danzig has revealed some new info regarding his upcoming covers EP “Skeletons“. Rollingstone.com sat down with the man himself and got word on a number of his track choices for the effort, which could arrive as early as July. Of the songs picked are:
ZZ Top – “Rough Boy”
The Everly Brothers – “Crying In The Rain”
Black Sabbath – “N.I.B.”
Troggs – “A Girl Like You”
The Litter – “Action Woman”
Davie Allan and the Arrows – “Devil’s Angels Theme”
Prong vocalist/guitarist Tommy Victor and drummer Johnny Kelly (Kill Devil Hill/ex-Type O Negative) joined Danzig on the sessions and have also been working on Danzig‘s forthcoming new studio album as well. An Elvis Presley covers effort also remains in the works, while a physical release for Danzig‘s recent ‘Danzig Legacy‘ live special is also planned. Speaking of his approach to covers in general, Danzig told the site:
“I had to put it out now or else there would be so many songs I’d want to do that I wouldn’t be able to do it. Even the way I did it, there are so many songs I still wanted to cover. My attitude with covers is, make it your own or else leave it alone.”
There’s a lot more insight on his particular choices and how he approached them over at Rollingstone.com.
