Slayer Streaming New Song “When The Stillness Comes”

An official stream of Slayer‘s new song “When The Stillness Comes” has been released below. The song will get its physical release as part of a new 7″ this coming Saturday, April 18th, as part of this years ‘Record Store Day‘ event. A live version of “Black Magic” recorded at the 2014 ‘Wacken Open Air‘ will appear on the b-side of the release. The band also revealed more details regarding their new album to Rolling Stone, who premiered the aforementioned song. The group are planning to release that effort in August with twelve songs recorded for it. King said of the material:

“I know there’s gonna be naysayers. I know there’s gonna be people expecting us to fail, because so many things have changed in the last six years. I’m prepared for that ’cause I know humans are just retards when they get on the internet. But I know we put a good producer together. I’m proud of it.”

Both this latest track and the previously released “Implode” and “Atrocity Vendor” are scheduled for the album, though the latter two have been re-recorded and in “Atrocity Vendor‘s case, rewritten. Other songs set for inclusion include “Take Control“, “Chasing Death“, “Cast The First Stone“, “Pride“, “Piano Wire” (featuring writing by late guitarist Jeff Hanneman) and “Vices“.

King also opened up about recording without Hanneman and more in the interview and revealed that the group will likely not be playing too much material live before the album’s released. For more on that hit up Rolling Stone.
