System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian and drummer John Dolmayan took part in a Reddit AMA today, April 09th. Some highlights from the chat, which saw the band answer a number of rather humorous questions about their goofier lyrics, can be found below:
In regards to the a potential new album:
Serj: “…We will be getting together to look at what inspires us today. If that leads to an album, then great, if not, then that’s fine too.”
When asked if they order pizza with “pepperoni and green peppers, mushrooms, olives, chives?”:
Serj: “I get veggie”
On the fate of the studio version of their scrapped track “Hezze“:
Serj: “We’ve played it live a few times. Maybe we’ll release the recording one day”
On what happens when “the refrigerator door is closed and the light goes out?”:
Serj: “The butter gets hard : ) haha..Daron and I were just laughing about that lyric in rehearsals. I mean who screams butter’s getting hard? Us I guess : )”
In reply to “where were the eyes of a horse on a jet pilot? One that smiled when it flew over the bay?:
Serj: “In the cock pit of course”
Whether or not band guitarist Daron Malakian ever found ‘Danny and Lisa’:
Serj: “No but Herman the German found his leather pants.”
Tankian also confirmed that the bands April 23rd stop of their ‘Wake The Souls Tour‘ in Yerevan, Armenia will be filmed and made available on the bands official YouTube channel the day after, April 24th.
