Black Sabbath’s ‘Ozzfest Japan’ Farewell Show To Be Their “Last Hurrah”

Over the weekend Sharon Osbourne released this video promoting the 2015 ‘Ozzfest Japan‘ festival. In passing she mentioned that it would be a ‘farewell’ for Black Sabbath, though she offered little explanation.

As it turns out, the show, which takes place November 22nd at Makuhari Messe outside of Tokyo, Japan, is scheduled to be the bands final performance. Frontman Ozzy Osbourne has revealed that the group have invited estranged drummer Bill Ward to return to the lineup for the show, which should cap off their final studio album, which they are thought to have been working on recently.

Ozzy said of the show:

“[It will be] our last hurrah. Then it’s no more Sabbath at all. We’re disbanding the name and everything. … They [Iommi and Butler] don’t want to tour anymore. I get it. But I love it. I’m gonna continue my solo thing.”
