Though it could have just been a side effect of NAMM, supergroup Giraffe Tongue Orchestra were mostly back together this week. Primary members Ben Weinman (also of The Dillinger Escape Plan) and Brent Hinds (of Mastodon) were present. Interestingly though, bassist Pete Griffin (Dethklok, Steve Vai, etc.) is also in the fold alongside ex-The Mars Volta drummer Thomas Pridgen. Prigden was originally linked to play drums with the band prior, before officially being replaced by Jon Theodore, now of Queens Of The Stone Age.
It’s probably worth noting that actress/musician Juliette Lewis is also tagged in the photo, potentially tying her to the project once again. Recording sessions for the long-awaited project took place with producer Ross Robinson (Korn, Slipknot) this past September. No word yet on when we can hear anything from the group.
