The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Greg Puciato Says It’s ‘Disgraceful’ To Have Fall Out Boy Billed Higher Than Judas Priest

The Dillinger Escape Plan frontman Greg Puciato can be counted among the many who are unhappy with Fall Out Boy getting a higher booking over Judas Priest at the 2015 ‘Soundwave Festival‘. asked Puciato—who will be playing the first-ever shows with supergroup Killer Be Killed at the festival—how he felt about the billing order:

“I didn’t even know that Fall Out Boy was playing. That’s a bit weird. I mean, I hate that kind of shit. I personally think that’s disgusting. I think that Judas Priest are fucking legends of metal and that they are one of the greatest metal bands of all time, so it’s a little bit disgraceful.

I don’t think there is any reason to have a band like that. I think this is the thing when you have a band like that on the stage on a festival like that it is a really slippery slope. Like once you put like a Fall Out Boy on there it becomes like one step closer to becoming a pop festival. So adding those kinds of bands is an obvious strategy to sell tickets.

Honestly, they probably shouldn’t even be playing but you know what happens a band gets on a festival and they find out where they are playing or they make a big thing about how high they want to be on the bill, but there is a lot of politics involved when there are bands that size, because their egos get hurt. They want to be as a high as they can be on the bill. I mean, its fucking Judas Priest man! it’s like fucking almost Black Sabbath. They are metal royalty. So that is a little bit sad for me to hear.”

When asked if he wanted to keep the above reply off the record by the site, Puciato replied:

“Nah!, feel free to post everything I just said. I don’t give the shit. (Laughs)”
