Of Mice & Men frontman Austin Carlile took to Twitter to offer the following words of advice to aspiring bands:
“Tips for bands: Your ‘suits’ that ‘work’ for you, want your money, not your dreams. They want your potential, not your passions. They will lie to you, they will cheat you, they do not have YOUR best interest in mind. No one will EVER take care of your band as well as YOU can.
So don’t be hasty to hand it over to someone that sees you as another $ sign. As Slipknot says “all your dreams come with a price, so they own you.”…. Don’t let them own you. Don’t let them take your dreams and hopes and smash them into the oblivion of their money machine. Do it for You.
Do it for the love of the music. Because I can guarantee you no one else is going to care as much as you. Ever. Ever. Ever. Don’t let Them feed you lie after lie just to get your obedience. Take heed to the fact they want your $. Not a thing more. Lying. Cheating. Bullshit.”
Of Mice & Men have also announced the opening acts for their European/UK tour early next year. Joining them this time out are The Amity Affliction & Volumes.
