Metallica‘s output for the remainder of the year won’t be restricted to a mere 27 live albums. Also coming from the band is a tenth anniversary re-release of their “Some Kind Of Monster” film on November 24th with Blu-ray and DVD releases planned alongside digital formats. Some extras will also be included, according to the band:

“A lot has happened since 2004 and we’ll bring you up to speed by including the feature “Metallica: This Monster Lives,” a 25-minute follow-up piece filmed at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2013 during the release of our second film, Metallica Through the Never.

It includes interview footage with us along with directors Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky and looks at the decade since the original release of the film. This feature along with the full film and all the extras from the original 2005 DVD release will be included on the Blu-ray and DVD.

This is also that the first time the film will be available on Blu-ray. “Metallica: This Monster Lives” will also be available along with the original film on the digital releases.”

The group will also be celebrating the 2014 Black FridayRecord Store Day‘ by putting out a limited edition “Lords Of Summer” 12″ vinyl release on November 28th. It will feature the ‘first pass’ studio edition of the title track as well as a live version recorded at the ‘Rock In Rome Sonisphere Festival‘ this past July. The b-side will feature an etching of the groups ‘M’ logo.
